This antique French 18 karat gold chain is circa 1880. It is a finely detailed chain with ten oval elements, each with beautiful cannetille (fine gold wire decorations). They are all connected by textured gold links.
The chain is a long 60 inches enabling this to be doubled or tripled around the neck. There is a spring ring which could connect a pendant of choice. The locket in the photo is an example, and is also available separately for sale.
It weighs 14.4 grams and retains full French guarantee stamps (head of an eagle) on the attached top link.
Each oval element measures 2.2 mm x 4.4 mm.
It has a lovely, rich patina.

This is a very elegant , beautiful chain in excellent, all original condition. Rare to find with these decorative cannetille elements.
