This Stunning Oil on Canvas, "The Young Ballerina" José Story/Storie (1899-1961) is in Excellent Condition. Featuring Soft Texture, Color and Light the painting projects a beautiful ballerina in silent reflection. Jose Story/Storie studied at the Académie de Bruges. At 23, he leaves for Paris to work with Lucien Simon and to study at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts. He excels at the female portrait, but he is also a painter of flowers and sometimes left his initial on the central pistil of a flower. In contact with the works of Velasquez, Manet and other impressionists, his style acquired greater freedom. On returning to Bruges, Storie opens a free workshop for artist and co-founds the Cercle d'Art Contemporain (Hedendaagsche Kunst), and is member of the Cercle d'Art de la Flandre Occidentale (Westvlaamse Kunstkring).
