England, c. 1930's Here's a great cloth doll from the coronation series of Liberty of London Dolls. This is King George VI (the current Queen Elizabeth's father and the subject of the recent film – the King's Speech). For the size of these dolls, the facial details are wonderful. I don't know how they capture the likeness of the subject with just a few simple stitches. He is wearing his royal purple robe trimmed in gold braid and felt that has been stitched to look like ermine. He has a jeweled crown along with a presentation pendant stitched to his robe. He is in overall good, clean condition, just seems to be missing one garter on his stocking. The inside of the robe has the Liberty label and he has the original tag from "The International Doll House" in Baltimore – the importers. US Shipping Only.
