A very nice early American kerosene/oil lamp base, circa 1885. The clear glass round fount has a pressed design of three intertwining ropes, two clear and the other with an embossed fluted pattern. Small inverted fan design near the base of the fount. It sits on an eight-sided milk glass base that is attached to the fount by a twisted brass ferrule. It stands 10 1/4" tall; fount is 5" across and the base is 4 1/2" across. The condition is very good; there are several minor chips and some flaking on the base and repair marks on the brass burner ring which has been reattached at some time.
