C Tielsch Company Floral Decorated Shallow Bowl or Ice Cream Tray
The Carl Tielsch Company was organized in Altwasser, Germany (Silesia) in 1845 and continued under this name until the early 1900's. This super transfer decorated shallow bowl or more likely ice cream tray, circa 1890 - 1910, has sprays of earth-tone carnations in rust and golden shades, long slender green shaded leaves, all accented with smaller lavender florals. The fantastic contoured bowl or tray is highlighted with heavy gold on all embossed areas. It measures 14" long and 9 1/2" wide. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. The base is marked in green "Made In Germany" and "C.T." with the Eagle or Phoenix bird and also in red "4882 over 106". A lovely bowl for use or display.
