The Florence Ceramics Company was founded by Florence Ward in 1940's and produced some of America's finest semi-porcelain figurines during the late 40's - early 60's. This lovely figure is "Clarissa", outfitted in Godey fashions of the late nineteenth century. She stands 7 1/2" tall and is attired in a flowing gray dress, with blue/green hat and fur trimmed muff. The textured (fur) on the muff and three large feathers on the hat are highlighted with 22K gold. Beautiful blond hair, brown eyes and ruby lips compliment her facial features. The base is stamped mark #2, "Pasadena California Copyright Florence Ceramics" as well as incised "Clarissa". There are no cracks, chips or repairs on this lovely figurine.
