Royal Bayreuth China "Highland Sheep" Pickle/Relish Tray
Founded in 1794 in Tettau, Bavaria, the Royal Bayreuth firm is well known for superior quality items. Their figural and scenic items, produced from before the turn of the century until the unset of WWI are highly collectible. This very nice Royal Bayreuth pickle/relish tray depicts a pastoral scene with trees and the sun as a backdrop with two highland sheep in the foreground. In shades of greens, browns, and white with gold trim and arched handles, it measures 9 1/2" long and 4" wide. There are no cracks, chips, nicks or repairs on this piece and is stamped in blue with mark #2. Some minor wear to the gold trim.
