Ceramic Arts Studio, Madison, WI "Standing Dapper Turtle" Figurine - image 1 of 6

Ceramic Arts Studio was founded in 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin, by Lawrence Rabbitt and Ruben Sand. Their most popular products were a variety of over 1000 delightful molded figurines. Most of the pieces were designed by Madison native, Betty Harrington. This figurine is one of the 800 figurines that Betty Harrington created during her career with CAS and carries her initials.

The adorable standing turtle could easily be named Dapper Dan for his black stove-pipe hat, bow tie, monocle and cane. His yellow/green body and multi-color shell in shades of green, blue and red is striking to say the least. Who as a child had or wanted a pet turtle, though much plainer than this one. The figurines measures 3 1/4" in height, is stamped "Ceramic Arts Studio - Madison, Wis" with copyright logo and more importantly is stamped "B H" with copyright logo. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint.
