This fabulous and rare Limoges tray is the "Hyde Park" pattern, created for the New York Central Lines Railroad. The delicate motif consists of shaded pale to darker pink bachelor button blossoms with soft green/gray leaves against the white porcelain blank. At each end of the tray is an embossed bow decorated with gold.
The tray, circa 1914-1935, measures 8 1/2" in length, 5 3/4" in width and was produced by the GDA Limoges factory in France. It is marked in green "GDA - France" the factory stamp; red "GDA - Limoges" within a wreath, the factory decorating department stamp; red "Fabrique Pour" (made for), "New York Central Lines", "Fourni Par (supplied by), "L, Barth & Sons - New York" (retailer). GDA is for the Gerald Dufraisseix & Abbott Company circa 1901-1941. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; minor gold wear and light utensil marks. A great piece for the serious collector.
