Portrait Painting "The Smoker" by German Artist 'J. Hochheim'

A wonderful portrait of Swiss/Bavarian gentleman smoking his pipe by German born artist, J. Hochheim; circa 1960. The painting is on a masonite board and measures 8 1/4" X 10 1/4"; the period wood frame with natural colored linen liner measures 13 1/2" X 15 1/2" in size. I think the medium used was acrylic, however, it could be oil. Great condition with no damage to frame or painting.

The following is from a label on the back of the painting. "J.Hochheim. Born in Berlin, Germany, in 1923. Spent early years in Switzerland and developed deep affection for the mountains and the people who lived there. Later, when aware of his artistic talent, he studied in Amsterdam, Holland, and Berlin. His wonderful peasant paintings have been extremely well received."
