A wonderful Victorian wood and gesso (plaster) picture frame in original untouched condition, circa 1870-1890. The prominent center portion of the frame is rounded with four cartouches of floral displays, ranging from roses to morning glories to daisies and more with at least five distinct patterns. The inside border consists of a repeated floral and leave design while the outside border is repeated floral and bud pattern. The Frame measures 14 1/2" X 12 1/2"; the inside opening is 12 1/8" X 10 1/8"; it could be hung vertical or horizontal. The aged gold/brown finish is original with great patina. The condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or repairs; some very minor wear along the edges (see photos). Glass not available. Great for your vintage family photo or small mirror. The best you will find with this unique, delicate overall floral pattern.
