The pattern Psyche & Cupid, borrowed from Greek Mythology, is delicately portrayed in the pattern motif for which it is named. The name of the manufacturer is unknown, but it is believed to have been made by an American glass company in non-flint, circa 1870's.
The goblets contain three round cartouches, edged with a fine sawtooth design. Each cartouche contains a cameo image of Cupid holding up a mirror for a nude Psyche to gaze into while brushing her hair. Behind Psyche is a pillar and paneled moulding, while behind Cupid are branches of fauna. A delicate scroll design separates the three cartouches.
The clear glass goblet measures 6 3/8" in height, 3 1/4" across the top and 2 7/8" across the base. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; EAPG may contain bubbles, straw marks and minor scratches from years of use. There are seven pairs of goblets for sale.
