Hand painted china is beautiful and unique as it portrays the artists emotions and visions for the subject he or she is creating. This beautiful hand painted bowl, circa 1910, was created in a small home studio environment by a very talented individual with great attention to detail and subject naturalism.
The motif is a colorful panorama of life in the ocean, which includes sea shells of various types, aquatic vegetation and other creatures of the sea. The entire color pallet is utilized to create exciting life-like images and contrasts on the entire piece. The bowl measures 8" across and 3" in height. The three curved shell feet and gently scalloped edge is gold gilt. The china blank is unmarked as to manufacturer and sadly the artist forgot to include a signature. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Truely a piece of art.
