Coronet Limoges Game Plate w/BIrd Transfer Design

Coronet Limoges is linked to porcelain ware manufactured in Europe and decorated in studios in Limoges, Paris and Germany before exportation overseas. George Borgfeldt was a New York importer of porcelain with decorating studios in Paris and Germany.

This lovely transfer decorated game plate features a large colorful game bird in shades of brown, black, russet and blue against a background of pastel colors of yellow, green, blue and tan. A large clump of medium brown wild grass emerges on the left side of the plate. The name of the original artist, "Max" is shown on the front. The contoured, six-sided plate measures 9 7/8" across with an embossed design on the outer edge and gold edging. Marked with the Borgfeldt "Coronet" mark, circa 1906-1920 on the reverse. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; several minor scuffs on the design and extensive gold wear on the edge.
