Pair of Miniature "Mallard Duck" Decoys - Carved & Painted by Illinois Carver

This a wonderful pair of hand-carved and hand-painted miniature "Mallard Duck" decoys. Created by master Illinois carver, Charles Moore, from DeKalb, Illinois. Mr. Moore who carves in the Illinois River style has been carving for over 40 years; these decoys are from early in his carving career. He is also noted for his expert restorations of works of prior greats from his field. Please note the combed painting on the drake and feathering on the hen.

The drake measures 8" in length, 3 1/4" in width and 3" in height. Marked on the bottom "C. Moore '75". The hen measures 7 7/8" in length, 2 7/8" in width and 3" in height. Marked on the bottom "C.R. Moore '74". They are as close to mint as the day they were completed. If you collect and enjoy contemporary carving and know of the work of Charles Moore you will want these for your collection.
