Fenton Blue Carnival "Vintage" Bowl w/Candy Ribbon Edge

The carnival glass of interest to most collectors is an iridized pressed glass that was produced shortly after the turn of the century into the late 1920's. Starting in 1907, the Fenton Art Glass Company became the first to produce this type of glass and became one of the leading producers.

This lovely bowl in the "Vintage" or "Vintage with Leaf" pattern because of the center leaf. The bowl, in blue, measures 8" across; 2 3/4" in height and sits on a collar base which is 3 1/4" across. The deep, crinkled edge is called a candy ribbon edge and is quite scarce. The interior motif consists of five bunches of grapes, leaves and long tendrils extending from the trailing vines. The exterior is a smooth plain motif. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. The color variation and sharp detail is wonderful.
