Set of 4 Homer Laughlin "Americana Series - Clipper Ship, Great Republic" Salad/Dessert Plates

HLC was founded by brothers, Homer and Shakespeare, in 1873 at East Liverpool, Ohio. In 1934 the company started using "transfer printing" methods to decorate dinnerware. The Americana Series was created for Montgomery Ward and was offered from 1940 until 1956 using special Currier & Ives scenes.

These lovely salad/dessert plates are entitled "Clipper Ship, Great Republic". They measure 7 1/4" across. Stamped "Clipper Ship, Great Republic - An American Subject - From Currier & Ives Prints - Made in USA by Homer Laughlin. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; overall age related crazing. Depth of color may vary from piece to piece. There are (2) sets of 4 available for purchase.
