Baccarat Crystal "Leaping Reindeer" Art Deco Sculpture

Baccarat Glass was established in 1765 by the BIshop of Metz, who wanted to encourage industry in the little village of Baccarat, some 250 miles east of Paris, France. Baccarat is famous world-wide for the creation of wonderful crystal paperweights, superb crystal tableware and lead crystal sculptures of animals and birds. Synonymous with elegance and class.

This fantastic lead-crystal, art deco sculpture depicts a leaping deer or reindeer with head pointed skyward, front legs bent and rear legs fully extended as he bounds over mounds of tall flora. The sculpture stands 6 3/8" in height, 8 1/4" in length and 1 7/8" in width. Original paper label "Baccarat with company insignia" is attached to one side near the base, as well as the acid mark with the Baccarat insignia on the base. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; near mint. Missing the original box. If you collect Baccarat sculptures or enjoy art deco design, his is a must have item.
