"Stanley Hagler - NYC" Faux Pearl, Cabochon & Rhinestone Brooch

American designer Stanley Hagler (1923-1996) was known for his bold, colorful, and seemingly large than life designs. After working briefly as an advisor to Miriam Haskell in he late 1940's, Hagler began to create his own jewelry designs.

This beautiful bar brooch is from this earlier period, circa 1950's or 1960's, and though more subtle in color pallet, it is outstanding in design and workmanship. Five layers of Russian Gold filigree findings form the base, which is then covered adorned with a large champagne carmel cabochon in the center and surrounded by hand-wired faux pearls, champagne beads and prong-set clear and green rhinestones. The rhinestones, pearls and filigree form flowers in a variety of color combinations. The brooch measures 3 3/4" in length and 1" in width and has a safety clasp mechanism. It is marked "Stanley Hagler N.Y.C." on an oval cartouche. No damages or missing stones; near mint condition.
