German China Cracker/Biscuit Jar w/Spring Floral & Fern Decoration

During the late 1800's and early 1900's it was fashionable for the lady of the house to store her fancy crackers, biscuits or small cookies in fancy containers of china, glass, pottery or metals. This lovely covered china jar, circa 1915, was for that purpose.

The jar measures 8 1/2" from handle-to-handle and 5 1/2" to the top of the finial on the lid. Beautifully transfer decorated with bunches and single daffodils and blue bonnet flowers and fern branches. Gold tracery bands of floral and geometric designs encircle the jar as well as gold trim on handles, finial and rims. The base is marked "Germany" and an impressed "N" and "1310". There are no cracks, chips or repairs; some minor gold wear. Great to use for special occasions or display.
