The carnival glass of interest to most collectors is an iridized pressed glass that was produced from shortly after the turn of the century into the late 1920's. Starting in 1907, the Fenton Art Glass Company became the first company to produce this type of glass and became one of the leading producers.
This beautiful bowl in the Stag and Holly pattern is well known and was first made in 1912. Found in two types of bowls, two sizes of plates and a rose bowl in various colors.
This bowl, in royal blue, measures 11" across, 4" in height and stands on three ball-type feet. The pattern consists of four standing stags with full rack separated by four branches of holly leaves and berries. The center is a leaf design. The exterior is a smooth plain panel motif. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; there is some roughness on the exterior from the mold, a factory flaw and not damage happening later. Good mold and color.
