The Mazer family immigrated to the United States from Russia in the early part of the twentieth century. Joseph & Louis Mazer first produced jewelry in 1927 insisting on using only the highest-quality materials. After the war in 1946 the brothers split and Joseph founded the Joseph J. Mazer Company, using mark "Jomaz" or "Mazer" from 1946 - 1981. This lovely, delicate, silver-tone brooch is composed of intertwining ribbons holding six flowers on individual stems. The flowers and ribbons are studded with tiny, prong-set round diamond rhinestones as well as channel-set baguette stones. It measures 2 1/2" in length and 1 3/4" in width and has a safely clasp. The item is stamped "Jomaz" as well as "M". Near mint condition for your enjoyment.
