A sprinkle on ironing day kept the wrinkles away. During the post was period many unique items for the housewife began to enter the market place. The decorative laundry sprinkler bottle took on the shapes of irons, clothespins, elephants and humans. Among this group was the "Oriental Laundry Proprietor" character sprinkler bottle. This popular version depicts a gentlemen attired in work uniform and holding an iron in his left hand.
This bottle, circa 1950's. stands 8 1/4" in height and is unmarked as to the maker; probably one of the various California potteries active during that era.
