The creative energies of the mind has been expressed in American folk art from the time of our early settlers. This native, yet charming carving depicting a Red Cross nurse in uniform is probably the efforts of a young carver during the late 1950's or early 1960's. It may have been a product of a school art-class assignment or boy scout project. Mounted on a painted pine platform the nurse figure is 7 3/4" in height. A good depiction of a nurse with a caring, yet stern look on her face. A wonderful piece of nursing memorabilia and early carving experimentation.
