"Kieselstein-Cord" Sterling Silver "Gator" Clip Earrings

American jewelry and accessories designer and artist, Barry Kieselstein-Cord was born in New York City in November 1948. He attended the Parson's School of Design, New York University and the American Craft Institute before founding his company in 1972. Soon opening retail outlets in American stores, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus as well as the countries of Japan, Germany and Switzerland. He states, "I don't make jewelry, I do sculptures for the body." and his web-site reiterates, "The art goes in before the name goes on." This wonderful pair of sterling silver earrings are from his "Gator" designs which is one of his most popular and pays tribute to the strength and majestic characteristics of the alligator species. Three dimensional in design they feature the head of an alligator surrounded by two rectangular borders. They measure 1" long x 3/4" wide and 1/2" thick. Both stamped "B. Kielselstein-Cord" and "925" to indicate sterling silver. A great designer pair of earrings in near mint condition for your enjoyment.
