Japanese "Figural Clown" 2-Piece Fruit Juice Reamer
If you collect juice reamers or just love clown items, this adorable figural clown character reamer is for you; circa 1920 - 1930. The two pieces consist of the cup, which is the body of the clown and the cover which is his head, hat and large ruffled collar. The ribbed, pointed hat is the actual reamer mechanism and the juice strains through holes in the large collar into the body-shaped cup. Decorated in soft colors of white, blue, yellow, orange and black. He measures 6" tall and 5 1/2" from spout-to-handle. Impressed on the base with a crown & "Made In Japan" and an ink stamp of a crown & "Made in Japan". There is some minor paint wear from use and a shallow flake on the edge of his collar (see photo). Very good condition for an item that was made for everyday use in a kitchen.
