Bella Dormiens - Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and 18k Gold Drops

Sleeping Beauty - the name conjures myth and inspires longing. The 13.5mm rounds in these earrings are from rough taken out of the famed turquoise mine in Globe, Arizona. Turned to perfection by master cutters, these orbs are the blue of dreams - sky captured in jewel form. Authentic Sleeping Beauty of this size is rare; these beads have not been subjected to any treatment, including but not limited to dye, radiation, or stabilization.

Although minor chalk-white veins are natural to Sleeping Beauty turquoise, this pair of rounds is virtually flawless. Each gem is flanked by tiny solid 18k daisies, and hand-wired on solid 18k gold. The bright yellow of 18k gold, often undervalued by American culture which celebrates the more muted tone of the lesser 14K, is like rays of sunshine piercing the sweet blue of a summer sky.

The drops hang just under 3/4" from substantial twisted rope French hooks of 18k gold, and the pair ships in a small box. These stones are rare indeed. Don't let them slip away.
