Wedgwood Cabinet Plate, Grapes, Antique English c 1906

A striking antique plate with fabulous bright colors of yellow, orange green, purple, brown and gold. It is large. About 10-1/4" (26 cm) in diameter.

The plate is in very good condition. There are 3 tiny nicks to the green outer edge. Near one is a speck of frit (a firing flaw) which was done in the making. There is crazing to both the front and back of the plate. There are no cracks which go through the plate. There are no utensil marks.

I am sure this very decorative plate was made for display, and always used that way.

Many marks on the back: printed in brown - WEDGWOOD ETRURIA, ENGLAND . Also: impressed WEDGWOOD P (for their Pearl body). Also, handpainted in red, the pattern number : 4685 and other marks. And the impressed date mark CTI for 1906.
