Muffin Dish with Cover, English Porcelain, Chinoiserie, Antique 19thC, Slamat
The pattern is in the Chinese style, and depicts a fisherman using a bird (usually a cormorant) to catch his fish. It is similar to the Petrus Regout pattern "Slamat" or "Formosa". Unlike that company's pottery wares, this set is Staffordshire porcelain. I date the muffin dish mid-19th C.
The under-plate diameter is 8-1/2".The height of the 2 pieces together is about 4". There are no identifying marks on either piece.
The condition is excellent. No chips, no cracks, no crazing, no repairs. Both the domed cover and the underplate ring when tapped.
