This fine, thin bodied Satsuma earthenware teapot is decorated in the Japanese taste (not the "for export" taste). It has a beautiful, finely crackled glaze. It is tiny, about 4" long and 2-1/2" high to the top of the knop on the lid.
The teapot is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The is wear to the gilding at the top of the knop.
It is signed under the handle in black. I have not identified the maker.
