2 Early Spode Trios: Tea Cups, Coffee Cans & Saucers, Rare Dollar Pattern Variant

What a find! This Spode trio was made in their intricate "Dollar Pattern", which is usually pattern 715 with lots of red enamel. This more subdued and elegant variation is Spode pattern 900, with only mazarine blue, grey, and gilding. According to Vega Wilkinson's book on Spode, the two patterns were made within a one year time frame.

Each piece is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing, and virtually no wear to the gilding. Each piece rings when tapped.

The only caveat is there is a color change in the shade of blue to the coffee can. It is slightly lighter than the other two pieces.

The saucers' diameter is 5-1/2". One is marked "900" in gold. The other is marked "Spode 900" in red. The bute shaped cups are 2-1/4" high, with a 3-1/8" diameter. They are unmarked. The coffee cans are 2-5/8" high, and marked "900." in red, with a track-like mark, also in red.

For the price listed, you get 2 sets of trios, (6 pieces). If you are interested in only one set, I would offer the set without the "Spode" mark for less than half price.
