This handsome and heavy little paperweight clock is pure Art Deco in design. The silver case has a sharply angled handle and two little ball feet. The body of the clock is 1-3/4" in diameter, and 1-3/8" deep. With the handle up, it is 2-1/2" tall..
The sterling silver case was made by A. & J. Zimmerman Ltd. of Birmingham, England, and the hallmark dates 1921. The clock itself says "Swiss Made" on the back of the works.
Condition? The sterling silver case is in perfect condition. The glass is unmarred. The clock face shows wear to the numerals. The center knob at the back which is used to set the clock is loose. There is a missing screw at the 10 o'clock position in the photo of the back of the clock. The clock winds and ticks, but the hour & minute hands do not move. The second hand seems to work fine.
NOTE: This small clock may be difficult to have repaired. I recommend using it decoratively only, as it is a wonderful example of fine Art Deco design.
