This lovely little book contains humorous and thoughtful sayings by Horace, Goethe, Shakespeare, Shaw, Churchill and more. It is 5"x3 1/2". The cover is worn but the pages inside are pristine. The pages are bright white velum with red and black lettering and full color illustrations. One of the entries is as follows: "There are two tragedies in life: not to get what the heart desires the other to get it" ... George Bernard Shaw "Springs of Humor", copyright 1964 by Leobuchandlung. Herder Book Center New York. This would make a great gift for someone to celebrate spring, Valentine's Day or an addition to an Easter basket. It would also be nice for a hostess gift at Passover. (It is part of a rare trio of books). I currently have the 2nd one in the trio (Springs of Indian Wisdom). You should be able to find it listed elsewhere in my shop.
