"Stirabout Stories" 1900's Gorgeous Illustrations

Make an OFFER! This is a very collectible (large) vintage book. "Stirabout Stories", by Madeline Barnes, illustrations by Anne Anderson, Blackie & Son Limited, London & Glasgow (no date so I believe it is a first); 79 pages. Back inside cover has small stamped name & address: F.E. Osborne, Bookseller & Stationers, Calgary, Alberta". This book is in very good condition as it dates from the early 1900's, is a children's book, has no childhood writings, drawings, no clips, no stains, no noticeable foxing and no creases, tears or chips. However, it is a little worn at the corners and does contain one notation (I-65) on the first end page (see close-up photo). The book has many b&w illustrations, but the treasure is the many colored plates that will knock you out! There are seven color plates and the frontispiece. Alot of times people buy these books just for the illustrations/art (I shudder when I think of them dissembling books for that purpose). This is a gorgeous book and would make a lovely gift for some lucky person~young or old. The artist Anne Anderson illustrated many children's books in the early 1900's. Madeline Barnes is the author of several children's books such as "Tub Time Tales", "Nannie's Treasure Box", etc..
