Here are two Jackson China "States Line" seahorse logo bread plates in perfect condition. States Line is a Steamship shipping line that carried passengers from the West Coast to the Orient; see below note. They are each 7" diameter in red, white and blue vitrified china. These are commonly referred to as restaurant ware or hotel ware & were used in diners, restaurants, railroad dining cars, the military and shipping lines. The backs state "Jackson Custom China, Falls Creek, PA., USA" and date to circa 1970's. These appear to have never been used as they do not have any utensil wear & are pristine condition. NOTE: States Steamship Company USA,1932-1980 operated cargo & passenger service on chartered ships between Portland or SF & the Orient 1932-1937. Advertised single class passenger service from the U.S.,West Coast to the Orient and around the world on it's General liners in the 1930's, service was discontinued due to WWII until 1946 when the line reentered transpacific service advertised "deluxe" passenger accommodations on voyages from the U.S. west coast to Hawaii, the Philippines, the Orient & Southeast Asia in 1965 (Per Barbara Conroy's books on Restaurant ware china).
