Mexican Huichol Yarn Painting Folk Art

This is a vintage Huichol art yarn painting that is a 6" x 6" is on a piece of plywood with yarn pressed into beeswax to form this gorgeous and colorful piece of figural folk art work. The back of the piece has the subject matter explained in Spanish. I was told this was by the artist "Emilio de la Cruz Bennitez. A wonderful piece that reflects the culture of the Huichol Indians of Nayarit, Mexico. This type of art was established in 1962 and is gaining in popularity with collectors. Will continue to go up in value. A hanger has been placed on the top back for easy display.
