Marcus Brothers Rattan Basket Purse/Patent Leather Trim

This fabulous vintage handbag (circa 1950's) is a roomy, great sized, very clean bag with lots of charm. It has been made by highly talented craftsman with exceptional details. The bag measures 10 1/2" x 8". It has a slightly white-washed look to the lacquer-glazed covered rattan which makes it more unique than a plain natural colored basket purse. The patent leather trim is light tan in color for a very sophisticated and trim look. The hardware is all brass which includes four little feet on the bottom to protect the bag. The inside is light tan colored vinyl in very clean condition and the inside tag states "Marcus Brothers Made In British Hong Kong". There is an inside zippered compartment. There is a small discoloration of about 1/2" on the inside leather strap and there are 2 stitches missing on the outside flap (see photo). I've priced it accordingly. The front flap over has a gold tone seashell motif which adds even more cache to this lovely vintage bag. Marcus Bros. was a high end handbag manufacturer in the 1950's. Perfect for Spring.
