This set of salt & pepper shakers are heavy and in good condition. Each is 3" tall and the bottom diameter is 1 1/2" across. The tops screw on and off for easy refilling. There is a three letter engraved monogram on the front of each which is placed directly under an engraved crown. The initials are FHC (I think). The engraving on both bottoms state "Four Star England" and have the letters EP and NS around a starburst (EPNS stands for Electroplate Nickel Silverplate). The bottoms are flared and the tops are domes that resemble crowns. The salt shaker is pristine inside but the pepper shaker has some slight oxidation inside and has a little bit of scratching on the top portion of the shaker. Overall as a pair they are in very good condition. I have done a ton of research and cannot determine what the monogram FHC means. It could be for Faith, Hope, Charity. Or, it could be for a ocean liner as the only "Four Star England" silverplate I could find was for the Cunard Shipping Line. I also was wondering it was in service for the Royal Navy? In any case, this is a handsome set and will compliment your Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday table.
