This gently scalloped has a creamy ground and features a charming floral pattern that is done in the style of turn-of-the-century botanical prints. The same amazing detailing and fine and subtle shading of the leaves and petals (even dew drops!) is due to the transfer pattern being applied from an original hand engraved plate - allowing a high degree of detail. The delicate tinting of deep rose, robin-egg blue, lemon yellow and grass green is really lovely!
Measures 10" across and is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There is light wear from utensil marks in center - best seen under a raking light - faint rub wear on two of the scalloped ridges along rim. Any white or dark patches are from camera glare or reflection. The plate is marked on back with the "Day in June" floral logo and "Made in England by Johnson Bros. A Genuine Hand Engraving. All decoration under the glaze. Detergent & acid resisting color. Pat. Pen."
