Antique Unmarked R.S. Prussia Blown Out Master Bowl Mold OM 40, Peach & Mint with Magenta Pink and Mint Florals, HP White & Magenta Accents, ca.1900

This wonderful display bowl with its appealing and unusual color palette is 10 1/2" in diameter and is 2 1/2" deep. The mold is an older one - OM (old mold) #40 with Decor OT(outline transfer) #7. The same item (without the mint and peach wash and without gold or HP accents) is shown in Leland & Carol Marple's RS Prussia: The Early Years (1997), plate 264. The mold is also known as Mold 401 (Mary Gaston's, The Collector's Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia (1982), plate 265.

The bowl is in very good condition with no cracks or hairlines. There is a tiny nick on one of the points of a molded plume along rim and there is a bit of color missing on one flower's petal where magenta paint was added to transfer. There is minimal gold wear to the accents on the molded plumes & scrolls and to the gilded stems - ca. 5%. Please visit me again when you're browsing on Ruby Lane!
