This pair of cards feature beautiful landscape scenes set on bodies of water. One cards has an Italian-type of coastal village that is nestled in a mountainous cove. The snow tipped mountains have nice shades of pale lavender and granite-green and the lake (or ocean) waters are calm. A large rose bush fills the card along with a verse - "No golden words, / No courtly phrase; / But the simple wish: / "Make happy days". The card is artist-signed, T. Bieletto.
This beautiful "Birthday Greetings" card has a bright metallic gold border, an inner, pale aqua, 'lacy' frame, and two clusters of finely detailed pink and red carnations. Lots of gold highlights cover the flowers, stems and leaves. Within the frame is a tranquil river scene, complete with tall shore grasses and trees and a sailboat - two people can be seen in the boat, either setting off under a romantic, setting sun, or coming in after a wonderful day on the river. The colors of the early dusk sky are very pretty and the ripples and reflections in the water, quite well done.
The rose-filled card is stamped, canceled and postmarked Sep. 7, 1910 in Logan, OH. It carries a 1909 Arthur Capper copyright. Penciled message and address. In goo/very good condition with minor edge and moderate corner wear and rounding on three tips.
The 'Birthday Greetings' card is unused. It was printed in Germany and has a space designated for a one-cent stamp. In very good condition with minimal edge wear and minor corner wear, except for a moderate wear on the tips of the lower righthand and upper lefthand corners.
