This gorgeous scene by Larry Toschik has extraordinary details and glorious colors! The hummingbirds are wonderful touches, but the gaze of the owl is what captures one's attention. This would look wonderful in a family room, office or library!
Born in 1922, Larry Toschik has been illustrating books on Native Americans since the 1950s, but is primarily known for his wildlife and landscape art, notably those published in the Arizona Highways magazine.
The plate measures 10" and is set in a substantial wooden mounting that is 13 1/2" in diameter. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, nicks, cracks or hairlines. There are some light scratches at top of the frame and a couple of very small nicks. It is signed and dated (1980) by the artist, but issued in 1981 by Fairmont China (UK) for their Artists of the World series. This plate is #1215 in the limited edition issue of 5000. Thanks for stopping by!
