Turquoise Repousse Brass Necklace

The centerpiece is an engraved brass rectangle. It drops from a necklace strung with a mix of beads. There are brass round Repousse beads. They separate cylinder shape Tibetan Beads inlaid with Turquoise and Brass. These beads are works of art in themselves.

Repousse is the art of embossing or pressing shapes into thin metal to create a design. This process has been used since ancient times to make everything from jewelry to religious Icons. Its almost a lost art nowadays. These beads are handmade by local artisans in Nepal. They utilize the same techniques that have been handed down through generations.

There are also brass rondelle and curved tube beads. The Turquoise are rice shape beads.

The Tibetan Inlaid beads are 30mm. The Repousse beads are 12mm. The pendant is 1.8" x 1.3". This is 16" long and closes with a toggle clasp.
