Kwan Yin Turquoise Repousse Resin Bracelet

It was strung with its centerpiece with a resin bead carved with the Goddess Kwan Yin. Kwan Yin means "She who harkens to the cries of the world". She is known as the Goddess of compassion & mercy. When Kwan Yin sits on a lotus it is said to be able to bring offspring. She can bless you with wealth, health, luck & happy life. During the old times, the people with no sons & daughters often make good wishes to Kwan Yin to bless them and bring them things that become true.

The Kwan Yin is surrounded by two Tibetan Turquoise round beads set between repousse beadcaps and followed by deep cherry red resin beads and brass Tibetan Repousse beads. Repousse is the art of embossing or pressing shapes into thin metal to create a design. This process has been used since ancient times to make everything from jewelry to religious Icons. Its almost a lost art nowadays. These beads are handmade by local artisans in Nepal. They utilize the same techniques that have been handed down through generations.
