1940s Gold Tone Butterscotch Lampwork Cabochon Link Bracelet

This vintage, circa 1940s, lampwork bracelet is really different and striking in appearance. To begin with the gold tone setting is shiny and radiant. Each of the six links is created by having two curved bars on top of the soon to be discussed cabochons, and two on the bottom. These swirling bars interconnect creating a closed frame. The visual effect is of a smooth flowing gradiant. The butterscotch lampwork cabochons of which there are six are all set in place by dogtooth prongs, also in gold tone metal. The cabochons themselves are a sight to behold. They resemble butterscotch with a purple marbling interior. They are replete with symmetrical veins emanating from their midline. Beyond the beauty of their appearance, they are solid in weight, making this bracelet a substantial piece. They rise about 1/4" from their inset base and are about 3/4" in diameter. The look that results is for us a quintessential 1940s one. I can envision it being worn in nightclubs of those days or in one of The Thin Man films (by Myrna Loy, not William Powell). The bracelet has a fold over clasp along with a safety chain and is about 7 1/2" in length.
