Art Deco Silver Tone Brass Cameo Red-Blue-Green Necklace-

This vintage silver tone and brass Art Deco cameo and multi colored chain dates from 1910 to 1920 and as you can see, it has held up remarkably well. The silver tone metal and brass make up the bulk of the chain, the surround and frame for the cameo and, an extra added treat, the tassel that hangs from the base of the cameo frame. The chain has multi colored beads throughout its length. We find four round green beads, two intermediate red ones, two small red ones and eighteen dainty blue ones, arranged in groups of three. The green beads and the larger red ones have silver tone caps on both ends. Now we come to the cameo, a finely delineated woman’s head and upper torso with flowing curls and shoulder markings. She is encased in a silver tone and brass surround which in turn is bordered by another silver tone ovalesque structure which has in it a blue bead on top, two red ones on its sides, two green ones in the middle, two more blue ones on the bottom wings and a red one on the bottom totaling eight beads. Hanging from the bottom of the red bottom bead we find a capped tassel of nine strands, highly unusual for a art deco cameo necklace. We can always flip the tassel and graduate to a new level of intricacy and elegance. The necklace has an old (it is old) spring style clasp and measures 15 1/2 ” in length. The cameo pendant measures 1 1/2" by 2” and the entire dangle including the tassel measures 3 1/2" in length. The beads vary from 1/8” to 1/2. A truly unusual and exciting dangling cameo pendant, necklace and tassel.
