I'd encountered this charmer at one of my favorite jewelry shops in Scottsdale, AZ, a number of years ago. Sadly, this establishment closed its doors, which is a bit of a tragedy as its handcrafted accessories were genuinely noteworthy creations.
This particular piece is constructed of sterling--with lovely detailing on the critter's wings--and two handsome pale-green turquoise stones. This fellow is in mint, never-worn condition. What looks like a chip at one side of his body is merely natural coloration of the stone. The body of the pendant measures approx. 1 7/8". It is 1 1/4" wide across the wingspan; 1 3/4" at widest point, legs included.
Since there is a bail as well, this little gent may be worn as either a brooch or as a pendant suspended from a chain or neckwire if you so opt. Stamped "sterling" on the back.
Original retail price was $120.
