French glass seed vials and wine cellar labels, c.1900 - a collection of four labels and two vials grouped together primarily because together, they form a curious display. The metal tags record vintages such as Chateauneuf du pape, Porto Rouge and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil in hand-written script, on paper inserted behind glass. The paper labels record vintages from 1919 to 1924 thought the metal tags themselves are older. The seed vials are hand-blown glass with a printed paper label for Poppy and Milanese sprouts inserted into the vials.
Condition: Excellent, well-preserved antique condition. One wine tag is missing its removable top border that slides into the top and allows for the removal of the paper label. No repairs.
Size: Metal tags 3 ¾" x 3 ½". Vials 5 ¾" and 6 ½".
