"History of Scotland" by William Duff printed in 1749 (360 pages). Illustrated with engravings of Robert Bruce and James I, by Boitard Fecit, and of Mary Queen of Scotland by C. Janet Pinxit. Preface printed 1750. Marbled boards and leather spine. At one point it belonged to: John Culver who acquired it in 1788.
Description: William Duff's 18th Century History of Scotland: " Containing the history of the succession of their kings from Robert Bruce, to the present time....with an impartial account of their constitution, genius, impartial account of their constitution, genius, manners, and customs. With a geographical description of the several counties... together with an appendix... and a map of each county in Scotland".
Condition: Unrestored. There is deterioration of the cover but binding is firm. A couple of the pages are torn. Some foxing though generally clean and well-preserved condition.
