English earthenware dairy crock for CREAM, c.1900. Originally displayed on the shop counter from which fresh cream, supplied by the London-based Dairy Supply Company, was dispensed to customers. This is a fine bodied creamware crock with a molded 2-part, urn-shaped form and applied molded handles. It features decorative black transfer-printed lettering on the front, and the supplier's trademark logo underneath.
CONDITION: It comes in good antique condition. One restored chip to the underside of the rim found at the back (as shown). There is some crazing with a small amount of discoloration in the interior base and rim.
SIZE: 9 1/4" in height, 9 1/4" in diameter at the top and 12" in maximum width (from handle to handle).
